Q&A

May 29, 2019

You asked, I am answering! I wanted to do a fun Q&A where you could ask me any questions to get to know me as well as provide you some information on my favorite things! I am thinking about doing this every 3 or so months. Let me know if this is something you would like me to continue! Now onto the burning questions.

Q: What made you start blogging?

A: I have always had an obsession with magazines and taking photos since I was young. I view my blog as almost a curated magazine where I get to create my own articles and editorial photo content. Besides my love for reading fashion and beauty articles, I have loved to dress myself since I can remember. I think it is so fun to be able to wake up and show your personality through clothes. For me it is an extension of myself and how I express my confidence and my personality. I started this blog to have a creative outlet where I can share these passions with the world and help others feel their most confident!

Q: Makeup product I can’t live without?

A: This is a tough one….. I would have to say concealer. I have always had really dark eye circles since I was young so I like being able to conceal them. Not only this but it can act as a foundation to spot correct on your face as well! My go to concealer is Tarte Shape Tape, seriously a life saver! A close second is lipstick, but a nice bold lip can look a little off with no other makeup so concealer wins this match!

Q: Skincare product I cant live without?

A: Another toughie…. I would have to say my moisturizer is what I couldn’t live without. I wear this night and day to keep my skin moisturized and also prime my face before my makeup. I think a moisturizer itself can make a huge difference in your skincare routine. I have learned that keeping your skincare simple can be the best solution for sensitive skin to avoid any flare ups or breakouts. My favorite moisturizer hands down is the Clinique Moisture Surge. It works great for my skin as it is light and immediately soaks into the skin not creating a heavy barrier on the skin.

Q: Favorite Place to Shop?

A: Any question that involves choosing one thing is unbearable haha. I would have to go with Nordstrom though. I love the quality they have to offer as well as the wide variety of price points, brands, and products. Close runners up are definitely Old Navy and American Eagle though!

Q: What do you use to edit photos?

A: I use the Lightroom app. It is a free app that you can download in the app store or on your desktop! You can play around with the editing features yourself in the app or a lot of influencers create their own presets which you can purchase if you want to implement the look and feel of their feed to yours! I use Jenna Kutchers presets now, but for summer will be moving over to the Jackie O Flow presets from Jackie Oshry for a brighter more vibrant feed! I think you really need to experiment with filters, presets, apps to understand the look you are going for on your feed and find the best fit for you. I also like Afterlight, A Color Story and VSCO.

Q: Tator tots or Fries?

A: Now I never discriminate a potato but…. French fries win this battle for sure.

Q: Accent Nail or no?

A: In high school I always rocked a good accent nail on my ring fingers. Now days this isn’t really my cup of tea, but I have been loving the trend with every nail being a different color or creating a gradient of one color family. I think this is super fun and mixes up the look of your manicure! Shoutout to Bre Shepard @breshepard who started the #boycottboringnails movement!

Q: What was your major in college?

A: I majored in Merchandising in college. I attended the University of North Texas which is known for their excellent Merchandising program. For those who might not be familiar with the field, there are many different avenues you can take for your career. Retail management, Buying and planning, visual merchandising, e commerce, product development, the list goes on and on. I currently work at Sally Beauty as an Assistant Buyer for the Hair Care categories. My day to day involves promotional planning, off shelf merchandising, plano grams, assortment planning etc. It is awesome to apply some of my beauty passions to my 9 to 5 job as well!

Q: What do you like to splurge on?

A: I personally like to splurge on pieces that I will have for a lifetime that aren’t super trendy. The majority of these splurges being handbags. One of the best investment pieces in my opinion, if you pick a classic silhouette that you will have for years to come, is a handbag. Two of my favorites are the Louis Vuitton Neverfull and a recent purchase, the Tory Burch quilted crossbody. These bags can be worn with any outfit due to their neutral color and aren’t to trendy of a design where it will go out of style in a few seasons! I personally am looking into investing to the Gucci Soho crossbody this year and dream of owning a pair of Valentino Rockstud pumps all the time LOL.

Q: Gold or Silver?

A: Gold for sure!! Gold has definitely come back into style the past few years as it used to be viewed as old or vintage. I personally love that as I tend to gravitate towards a more vintage look. Not only that, but the colors I tend to wear more often are warm toned which goes hand and hand with gold, where silver pulls more of a cool tone. Of course you can wear either metal with any color but this is my personal opinion!
