2019 Resolutions

January 2, 2019

New Year New Me right?! Every year I like to set my own goals/resolutions and journal them down to remind me what I am striving to accomplish in the new year. Let’s be real, it can be really hard to stick to these resolutions and really see them through with work, etc going on everyday. This year I am more motivated than ever to really stick to these resolutions. Something about me is that I hate change, I like to stick to a schedule and a routine and don’t really stray from it at all. My boyfriend Connor always tells me to get Uncomfortable, and I am taking that into 2019 to push myself out of this comfort zone I have. I am trying to keep these resolutions smaller rather than this large unattainable goal that can never be reached.

I am going to share 5 of my 10 resolutions with you today, the other 5 I am keeping personally to myself. To be honest, some of these resolutions I had written down for 2018 and I need to still work on them going into the new year. This year I am pushing myself more to conquer these goals and am holding myself more accountable. I am also creating a vision board to hang on the back of my closet door and remind myself of these goals I have in place everyday visually. You can create your own to by cutting out pictures from magazines or finding images online. All you need is your images and a poster board to display your goals visually!

  1. Workout Consistently: I mean let’s face it, this goal is on the majority of America’s list. I need to find the right routine for me. I have played sports and have been active my whole life, but with work it can be a beating to come home and workout after a long day. I need to push myself to come home immediately and change and head to my apartment gym. I have no weight loss goals, but goals to get fit and in shape again. If you asked me to do some sprints right now the result would not be pretty LOL. So I am pushing myself to have set workout days and make no excuses to skip a workout, and if I do, I need to replace it and make it up on another day.
  2. Eat Better/Cook More: Its no secret that I have the palette of a 5 year old. I love alll the carbs in the world. I am wanting to find that balance and work towards cooking more at home instead of eating out. I also hate having to come home and cook after a long day of work and after a workout, so putting more thought into my grocery shopping, finding easy and simple recipes to try, and not beating myself up and forcing myself to only eat salads. Maybe just cut back on the Mexican food that I eat 24/7.
  3. Spend Less Save More: I have gotten better at this the past year to not buy something because the dress is pretty but do I actually need it for an occasion and do I have something exactly like this in my closet. This year I want to incorporate a one in one out policy on all my clothes. My closet is stuffed because I hold onto clothes for years just because it is in good condition. Even if it is, I am not wearing it and it takes up space and clutters my life.
  4. Wake Up Earlier: This is honestly laughable because I have been a night owl and late sleeper my whole life. I am about worthless in the morning when accomplishing things. My mind and body are much more engaged at night hence why I love working later and working out in the evenings. I do want to work on this and have these days where I sleep in and have some me time but on the other hand wake up and get out of bed to plan blog content, run errands, workout, etc on the weekends. I am going to push myself to do that once a weekend in the beginning and see how that goes!
  5. Read a Book a Month: I love to read and recently haven’t got to as much as I would like! I want to be able to read a book a month and put my phone down at night and unwind with a book instead! Would love to know if y’all would like book reviews monthly?!

I am so ready to take on 2019!! Besides these 10 personal resolutions I also have some exciting goals for From Red to Toe this year. Can’t wait to see where this year takes me!!
