It’s no secret that Little black dresses are a staple in any wardrobe. The LBD is the epitome of class. Think back to Audrey Hepburn or Coco Chanel, two fashion icons who knew how to wear a LBD. The reason for the appeal of the little black dress is simple. It is a blank canvas for any look, flattering on any woman, and can be transformed for so many different occasions. Truly timeless.
The LBD I am sharing today is perfect for all body types. It might be form fitting, but the ruching on the front of the dress lays so perfectly and accentuates all the areas you want, and drapes over the areas you don’t want to accentuate. Not only is it flattering, it is on sale right now for $45!! Truly a piece you will have in your wardrobe forever. And if you like it that much, it also comes in 11 colors.
Now to start off, this LBD is perfect to take from day to night due to the fabric. The fabric is a cotton material that can easily be dressed up or down. Now if you had a more dressy material like satin etc. it might be harder to dress down due to the higher quality material. For day time I paired the black dress with a jean jacket and hoops. Honesty two go to’s for day looks. For shoes I went more of the athleisure route with my favorite casual sneakers. I like this element because some people are afraid to take the risk with sneakers and dresses so it gives an edge to the look. The sneakers give off more of a street style vibe so if this isn’t your style you can easily switch out for your favorite pair of casual sandals.
Now to switch to the night look. I am telling you people, I literally switched this look from day to night in the streets of Dallas in under 5 minutes. Now if that doesn’t prove how easy it is, I don’t know what will! So I shed the jean jacket off and switched my sneaks for a classic pair of strappy black heels. You can always add a pop of color in your shoe but since I added the pop in my lip color I stayed with the black. It is all about editing since you want to keep a classic LBD just so, classic. I swapped out the hoops for a more elegant drop earring and popped on my favorite red lip for a boost of confidence! You have a whole new look by just a switch of shoes and accessories. One thing I keep in mind when styling an LBD is the timeless look that the black dress offers, so I try not to over power with too many accessories and keep it simple. Let your beauty be the focal point!
I had so much fun putting together this day to night look! Let me know if you would be interested in seeing a series of these blog posts.
