Jean Short Roundup

July 11, 2019

It is that time of year to trade in the jeans for shorts (especially in the South!). Finding comfortable and flattering jean shorts has been the hardest thing for me to shop for over the years. I wanted to share my favorite pairs and places to shop for denim shorts to hopefully make your life easier!

American Eagle– Hands down my FAVORITE place to shop for denim shorts!! The quality and fit are amazing for the price, especially since they run promotions all the time, so you can usually get a steal! My favorite style is the midi short. It’s a good length for any age and flatters all body types. They hit in the perfect spot on the stomach right at or above the belly button so you feel sucked in and contained. One of my favorite things about these shorts is the material. They are so comfortable and stretchy which is hard to find in denim since they are usually stiff making it feel not lived in. I come back to this style every summer and usually pick up any new washes! If you hate denim I strongly suggest you give these a go!

Levis– What can we say, its a classic. Levis are the perfect all American short for the summer. Where these are not as comfortable as the American Eagle pairs, I find them so flattering with the high waisted style. I love these because they never go out of style and are such high quality that they can face wear and tear. If you do not have any high waisted denim and are willing to invest in a pair you cannot go wrong with these.

Abercrombie– So I hadn’t worn Abercrombie shorts since Middle/High School until this Spring. I remember only wanting to shop for my denim at Abercrombie back in the day. You might remember that they usually had their iconic stitching on the pocket, that has changed though! These high waisted shorts are a classic with no embroidery, stitching etc to make them stand out. I picked up the super light wash and the black denim because I could not find any I liked in these washes before. I enjoy where these hit on the waist and find them to be a bit more comfortable and breathable than the Levis.

Old Navy– The only Old Navy style I have tried is the boyfriend fit. I find some of the other styles and washes to look a little on the cheap side. The boyfriend fit is so comfortable and cozy not hugging onto the body tightly. I love running errands in this pair and lounging around the house!

Where do you shop or your denim? I would love to hear!
