Galentine’s Brunch

February 7, 2019

Valentine’s Day is quite possibly one of my favorite days of the year. I love being surrounded by loved ones, obviously the color red, and all the fun decor from hearts to roses. Valentine’s day can have a bad connotation for some people if they are not in a relationship. Even years when I was single, I loved to celebrate because I always spent it with my gals! So gather up your main girls, throw on some red lipstick and celebrate this day of love together! The perfect time to do so is the weekend before Valentine’s day so you can pop the bubbly and kick back and relax! I am breaking down the key aspects on how to throw the most festive Galentine’s Day Brunch!

Decor

Every basic girl out there knows that it is essential to have the perfect decor for that Instagram moment. Eye roll I know. I like to start off with finding the perfect wall decor to set the tone of the theme. Target is by far my favorite place to look for these pieces. I found the Gals ballon there, which is the perfect focal point to the whole theme and color scheme. The red heart streamers behind the balloon are from Hobby Lobby and add some dimension to the backdrop. To round out this atmosphere I added the heart balloons from party city to hang above the table and add a fun element! Moving onto the table I think it is very important to create the focal point. The vase in the center with pink and red roses incorporate the colors and help add a center statement. To flank the flowers, I added clear vases from the Dollar Store (super cheap and can be reused for so many occasions!) and filled them with yummy valentines candy! These table pieces sat on a doily runner that I taped together allowing me to create my own length and fun texture to the table! To round out the table, I added a pom pom garland from Target to the end. This could definitely also be home made but was only $5 if you need to save some time.

Place Settings

The place settings I kept super simple. Classic white plates layered with a simple red heart napkin. For the name cards my friend made these adorable calligraphy cards! To add another special element I found these clothes pins with the heart details at Target (another adorable find!). I chose the white plates and serving trays so that the red and pink accents would really pop!

Drinks and Food

It is really up to you on what you chose to serve at your brunch based on everyones favorites! I chose pancakes with optional whipped cream topping, tinted with red food coloring to add a pink touch! The strawberries on the top of the tiered serving stands gives a sweet option with the chocolate covered strawberries or the option of plain to eat alongside your pancakes! I also added blueberries and raspberries in a smaller bowl to add into the drinks or eat with the strawberries on the side. For an after pancake dessert, there are plenty of options all over the table for sweets! The candy in the clear vase centerpieces, and two cookie options! I mean come on, Valentines day is the perfect excuse to indulge right?! When thinking of the drink to go along with this brunch you could definitely stick to your traditional mimosa, but my mind immediately went to Yes Way Rose! You can find this adorable rose at Target and it also now comes in a bubbly version!

Galentine’s day is the perfect excuse to go all out with your best gals and celebrate your love for each other! Make it a fun day full of pink, red, laughs and taking some cute pictures of course;)
