I really don’t think I can contain my excitement for Spring! If you talk to me on a normal basis you have probably heard me exclaim “SPRING IS COMING”. I personally hate fashion in the winter. I hate the layers, the cold weather, it all feels so clunky and bland. But when spring comes around I get so excited for the bright colors and fun accessories! I personally love experimenting with new trends that I might not usually gravitate towards in the spring season. I am recapping 9 of the biggest trends we are seeing on the runway, on celebrities, and street style. I must admit I will not be partaking in some of these trends, but I wanted to share in case they are a fit for your style!
Dramatic Hoops
I LOVE a good hoop. I can remember back senior year of college watching I believe the Grammy’s with my roommate Liberty, and seeing Taylor Swift rocking hoops on the red carpet. It was in that moment Liberty called a hoops comeback. Ever since around 2015 hoops have come to stay! This season we are seeing more bold hoop shapes and colors, really revitalizing the trend and making it so fun for spring! I just picked up a pair of red hoops that I cannot wait to wear!
Living Coral
If you have been living under a rock you may not know that the Pantone color of the year is Living Coral. At the beginning of each year Pantone announces their color of the year. After this announcement you will be sure to see the color incorporated on red carpets, in collaborations with brands etc. I personally don’t love the color on myself but maybe I can find that right hue that I fall in love with! If you are shy away from loud colors in clothes, this trend would be really fun to try out in accessories, especially shoes, or maybe a lipstick (that’s probably the route I will be taking)!
Tie Dye
I mean I laugh at some of the price tags that tie dye clothes comes with LOL. I remember tie dying my own shirts at home for birthday parties and at school for field days. I do love the nod to the 70’s though. I actually found a tie dye band tee at Ross the other day that will be really fun to style with high waisted shorts this spring! This trend is also really fun because it can lean towards more rocker band vibes, or lean more beachy vacation, really allowing you to find the right piece for your style! What do y’all think of this trend?
1990’s-2000’s
So my youth is applauding and embarrassed by some of the 90’s-00’s trends that are coming back in style. Bike Shorts, clunky tennis shoes, chokers, plaid, the list goes on. Target has a whole line Wild Fable, that is a nod to this eras nostalgia. I personally will and could never get behind the bike short or grandpa tennis shoes trend, not my speed at all. I do applaud those that can pull it off! I am all for the 90’s graphic tees though! And if roller body glitter, Smakers chapstick, and the Limited Too could make a comeback I would be all in.
Neon
The neon trend has been one of the hottest trends of the season. We have seen this on countless celebrities and in the beauty world, from nails to eyeshadow. I personally am not going to dabble into this trend, maybe I will get adventurous with my nails, never say never! You know a trend for the season is strong when we see it cross categories through clothes, accessories and beauty. Are you here for this?!
Head to Toe Neutrals
Now this a trend I would love to try out in workwear. The all neutrals is so chic and pulled together. I would normally say this is probably not the color palette for me, but look how gorgeous Emma Stone looks in the color palette with a light complexion! She gives me hope! I also would love to find the perfect trench coat like Kendall is sporting down the runway, I still do not have this staple in my closet!
Transparent/Acrylic
We have all seen Kim Kardashian and other celebrities sporting the transparent “plastic” shoes. And every time I see them I wonder how does that not hurt your feet or make them sweat? The answer is they probably do cause all of the following but it’s FASHION. I have loved seeing this transparent trend come across jewelry, specifically acrylic hoops. I just picked some up and they are so versatile to wear with all of your wardrobe! Thats probably as far as I am going with this trend. I tried the below Target shoes and they just didn’t workout on my feet, long awkward toe problems.
Belt Bags
If I had the extra funds to buy this Gucci red belt bag, you betcha I would. I think this trend is so fun! So many options out there from low to high price ranges for you to try this look out. Definitely might be picking up the Gucci dupe for this spring! I call this look 90’s mom chic LOL. If you are a bag connoisseur like myself, this is something so fun and new to try out.
Hair Accessories
This trend is EVERYWHERE, and I am honestly living for it. Makes me relive my 90’s hair clips and Blair Waldorf headband dreams. I admit I never do much to my hair, straight hair is the name of the game, but how fun to throw in a few clips or a headband on and make a look! I just picked up a new headband and some adorable clips that I will be sharing in a blog post later next month! We always accessorize with jewelry, but most often than not don’t think about accessories for our hair!
Writing this post has got all of my ideas flowing for fun spring outfits!! What trends are you dying to try out, and what trends did I miss in this roundup that you are excited for?!
