My Favorite Holiday Red Lipsticks

It is that time of year!!! Red lipstick season. I mean let’s be real, every season is red lipstick season for me. When it comes to the holiday season though, red lipstick is even better. Now I get red lipstick isn’t for everyone…. but this time of year is the perfect time to explore a shade of red and have a little fun! Now I know it might sound crazy to have more than one red lipstick in a makeup collection…. but I mean it’s me (extra extra) so I am here to tell you my favorite shades and help you find the perfect one to rock this holiday season!

MAC Red: I mean this lipstick is a CLASSIC. I personally love MAC lipstick formulas. This particular shade is so creamy and comfortable on the lips. The only downside with this is that it will come off easily but thats the price you pay when you don’t go with a matte formula. This shade is their satin formula which in my opinion is the best formula they have in lipsticks.

Morphe Liquid Lipstick in Hot Shot: So if you watch Youtube makeup gurus, Jaclyn Hill to be exact, you may have heard her rave about this lipstick in the past. I love this color because it is so bright and bold! It has a little bit more neon elements than a classic red in my opinion. Even though it is matte and stays put on your lips, I don’t think it is too uncomfortable like now might feel about a Kylie lip kit. And for $10 bucks who can beat that price?!

Kylie Cosmetics Mary Jo K: Now before you hate on the Kylie matte formula for being hella drying on the lips, let me just say that this stuff stays PUT. There will be no worries on this lipstick transferring off your lips. The shade is also gorgeous with some deeper red tones. Also tip for you, if you don’t care if the lipstick wears off easily you can put a gloss or chapstick over top to make it more comfortable and moisturizing.

MAC Ruby Woo: This was my first MAC lipstick ever. This red and the MAC Red are some of the most iconic well known reds out there. I will say I am not a huge fan of this formula being that it is a retro matte. This formula is very drying to even put on your lips, it is hard to glide the product on. But let me tell ya, this color is stunning. A true Hollywood classic red.

Shane Dawson x Jeffree Star Are You Filming: So I know some of you out there also followed along with the iconic Youtube documentary of Shane and Jeffree making this whole collection and showing us the behind the scenes. When I saw there was going to be a red lipstick I had to have it. It is currently sold out right now but grab it when it is back! Jeferee’s lipstick formulas are so comfortable. They don’t stay put as much as a Kylie lip kit, but you do get more comfort on your lips.

Maybelline Hot Passion: Last but not least the lipstick that made fall in love with red lipstick in my adult years. I wore this shade in high school and well into college religiously until I started experimenting with more shades. I believe this shade is unfortunately discontinued which will only make me want to cherish my last tube even more. I have linked a similar shade of the same lipstick so I hope it holds a candle to my old faithful shade!
