Christmas Home Decor

December 13, 2020

My favorite time of year is here! Christmas decor! I love decorating for the holidays for two reasons. All the red accents are obviously a mood booster and then how cozy it makes me feel at home! I am one of those people who do not like decorating for Christmas until after Thanksgiving. One holiday at a time am I right? But this year had to make an exception and be able to enjoy the decor for longer and have something fun to do while spending so much time at home. So welcome to my crib MTV! Holiday edition.

First of is the main show, the tree! So unlike many other people, my roommate and I both love to have our personal ornaments on our tree and not follow a certain color scheme or get all of the same ornaments to look uniform. In my eyes a tree tells a story and I love showing personality or life milestones on the tree!

Next is the bar cart + book case. I LOVE having a new theme on the bar cart for each season or holiday. Just a fun little nook to dress up! We are thinking to turn this into a coffee cart after the holidays. Will keep you posted on ideas. The bookcase has fun touches of the iconic Target dollar spot trees which to me have a nod of nostalgia with the bright colored wired trees. I have been scooping these up for 3 years now whenever they come out because they go FAST!

This year we had one new edition to the kitchen and that was dressing up our cake stand. I loved this personal touch, I used my old bright Christmas bulbs I grew up with as our Christmas lights on our house! Adds a fun pop of color and nostalgia again. Can you tell I love classic Christmas decor? The Target trees are utilized here as well mixing in some of the green Opalhouse trees that are a tad more expensive than the dollar spot finds.

The cozy area! The perfect spot to cozy up with a Christmas candle and watch Christmas movies (or Real Housewives, I am not biased LOL). This year I picked up some adorable Nutcrackers to place around the apartment. I don’t know why I waited so long because they scream classic Christmas and are such a cute touch. Added some adorable Christmas pillows from Target on the couch. I am telling you Target had it ALL this year. It was hard to hold back.

Since we do not have front windows to a house… lol, we added small wreaths to our inside windows! These are hung with red ribbon and then simply tapped behind the window lip.

And to wrap it all up, probably my favorite area is the bookcase. Back to my nostalgia, is setting out Christmas cards on display. Obviously these are not from family or friends, but instead our favorite brand Rifle Paper with the cutest designs ever. Just brings a smile to my face looking at these adorable designs! Then to top it off the adorable tree garland + our Christmas stockings (peep my roommates dogs stocking already full of toys lol).

And that is my classic Christmas Decor tour! Honestly I am all about living in this winter wonderland and I hate when its time to take it down. The living room feels so bare after that! What is your Christmas decor style?
