Spring 2021 Trends

April 27, 2021

A new season is here which means new trends!! This is my all time favorite blog post to write each season. Takes me back to in college when I took a trend forecast class, my favorite class all of college! Now let me start first with that I will not be partaking in all of these trends. Some of these trends are wayyy out of my comfort zone and I have no intention to try them out LOL. These are 10 trends I have been seeing a lot through my research but of course do not encompass them all (honorable mention to polo shirts). I will also be sharing some affordable finds for you to check out as well if you want to hop on the bandwagon! I always look for cheaper pieces when it comes to trends because it is likely that they will come and go very quickly. So lets get into Spring 2021 trends!

Clashing Colors

This trend has been around a few years now but we are seeing it more than ever. It typically showed up with mixing orange and pink. These high chroma colors mixed together create these clashing colors that somehow still work! This trend is definitely on the more bold side, and allows your creative mind to run wild! I personally like to do this trend with my nail colors.

Candy Stripes

I am always a sucker for stripes in the spring/summer. This take on stripes is very reminiscent of the 70’s trends we are seeing coming back. Also a head turner, these candy stripes are not for the faint of heart either. A fun way to bring a pop of color to your closet & pair with jeans or get adventurous and pair with another print!

Toe Band Sandals

Now this is a trend I cant get behind since I don’t like my feet and this will just draw attention to them. These sandals are very chic and can bring an interesting element to your look. This trend can come in many variations & has really hit the mass market so easy to find a cheaper version!

Chic Sweatshirts

Now I can get behind this trend. This has been a continuation of the trend we saw last spring in quarantine with matching sets. Now these lounge wear pieces are being dressed up and worn out of the house. I have accumulated so many sweatshirts and sweatpants and tbh I am not ready to give them up until I shed the quarantine weight, thankful for elastic waistbands! This is the perfect trend to evolve how we wear these pieces!

Puffy Purses

Puffy is in this spring. Sounds weird, but it’s all the rage. First off is puffy pillow purses. Its quite literally what it is, purses created with a more plush leather. The It bag of the season is the Coach Tabby (photo below in the middle). Coach has had a complete resurgence and I am not mad about it! I really have my eye on picking up this bag but cant decide if its worth the splurge!

Puffy Sleeves

Continuing on with the puffy trend, is puffy sleeves! This really is the trend that is EVERYWHERE. You can find at least one puffy sleeve item in each store you go to. This can vary from a little volume to a lot of volume! I personally like only a little volume in the shoulder area as I feel like a full puffy sleeve swallows me. This to me is a nod to the 80’s when you look back on the Prom dresses and fashion of the time. Not mad at this trend and see if sticking around for a bit!

Bubble Gum Pink

Pink is always a classic for the spring season but this pink shade is kicked up a notch! I just picked up a bright pink blazer and I cant wait to style it! Pink is so feminine but also so bold at the same time and I love that about the color. We have seen this trend all over the runway this year!

Chain Bags

This I would say is probably one of the biggest trends in accessories right now. You can find this everywhere now! The original of this bag was from Bottega Venetta. Iv’e seen so many Tik Tok’s on how the original bag was so heavy and weighted from the chain. Obviously these knock off or inspired versions are not as high quality so it will not be an issue with the weight of the bag. I love how luxe and interesting these bags are! Makes your bag a statement and conversation piece.

Tennis Ball Green

Every year we see some version of neons coming back. Now I personally won’t be rocking this trend in my wardrobe.. but could totally see me trying it on my nails! This will be such a big street style trend. I also see this being elevated in athleisure.

G String

Saving my least favorite for last lolol. This is wayyy out of my comfort zone and tbh feel like it is super tacky. Like so many trends this one is not new. This was a trend back in the 90s from street style to even on the red carpet. This trend is coming in many ways, literally with a G string showing or making it look as if it is, or cut outs on the side giving the illusion of underwear. You do you, but you wont catch me in this trend LOL

Another season, another trend round up! What trend are you most interested in trying?!
