This quarantine has had me switching up all my decor! I have had a lot of the same pieces and layout in my bedroom going on 4 years now, and got the itch to switch it up since I have been spending so much time on Pinterest and watching decor videos on YouTube. My style has always been vintage and eclectic which you can see in the pieces in my room. You can take a look back at my past Bedroom tour here!
Starting off with the main piece in the room, my bed! This bed is pretty special to me as it was my Grandma’s and my Mom’s before it was mine. I also love the antique iron bed frame look. My comforter is from Anthropologie. Unfortunately they no longer make this style. I have linked some similar duvets, but I do believe this style is called Georgia if you want to scour the internet for the exact one. Above my bed I utilized an antique window that my Mom found at an antique shop in Kentucky. I have always loved antique windows in home decor and was so excited to be able to incorporate it into my room.
The antique pieces continue onto my dresser which was my Dad’s dresser growing up. I revamped it with these fun Anthropologie knobs bringing in that “eclectic” feel. I like to mix in gold and marble accents which falls more into a modern or simplistic aesthetic. These gorgeous jewel prints are from my sorority sister Jessie Kuruc. You can shop all of her prints here!
This space was one of my major revamps this quarantine. Underneath this inspiration wall is the dreaded utility box. If you have lived, or currently live in an apartment, you know how annoying this is while decorating. I used to have a neutral tapestry covering it but I was sick of looking at the same thing while laying in bed and it didn’t really go with my style anymore. I have always loved seeing inspiration walls in offices, bedrooms etc. and decided to create my own! It was such an affordable option and brings a smile to my face everyday. I got on Pinterest and started pinning quotes and images that were inspirational to me that also went with the color scheme of my room. I printed them all out on my printer to ensure I liked the flow of all the pieces together and then printed them at Walgreens. Stick them up with packing tape and boom an easy way to disguise a utility box!
The next biggest project was revamping my jewelry storage. I wanted a new frame for my earrings since the prior one I had was more rustic. Same goes for the necklace holder I had. I wanted to update these pieces to reflect the style in my room better. I found this frame on Etsy from a vintage seller. The lace pieces you can find at Hobby Lobby and simply pin to the back of the frame. I kept my stud back earrings organized the same utilizing sewing circles. If you are new here I should preface I have quite a jewelry collection from working at Kendra Scott and Anthropologie through the years!
My desk setup is used more as a vanity. I have never been that girl that could do her makeup in the bathroom using the mirror at a far away distance. I personally love to sit down and be able to see all of my makeup instead of storing it in a makeup bag and having to dig through it while getting ready. This Amazon acrylic organizer has been a game changer for how I store my makeup! Fun DIY tip is re use your candle holders that you love to hold makeup brushes, qtips etc!
Since things have changed the past few months working from home, I also utilize this space for work now too. Next to my desk I keep all my notebooks, tapes etc. Anything office related. I got this rolling cart from Ikea and it is such a space saver!
And last but not least my favorite space in the room! This fun seafoam dresser is another vintage piece that belonged to my Grandmother. The lamp is also a vintage touch. I chose this color to pull out the color of the rug which I love! Funny enough I actually bought this rug from Lynlee Poston a local Dallas blogger who was selling it on her Instagram story. On top of my dresser I love showcasing my perfumes and other pretty details. I always remember growing up loving looking at my Mom and Grandma’s bottles and such on their dressers. I think these touches are so pretty and feminine.
And the piece of resistance is this beautiful Anthropologie mirror. I have had my eyes on this piece for so long but never bit the bullet since it is an expensive piece. At the beginning of quarantine they ran a home sale for 30% off and I decided to go for it since this whole room update was centered around this piece. I used to have this dresser in front of my window, but rearranged my furniture just so the mirror could lean on the wall. I love the vintage elements and how it really adds impact in my smaller room.
I honestly have such an itch to have a house now so I have even more space to decorate LOL. Make sure to follow me on Pinterest for all my home inspiration! What is your personal style?
