20 Things to Do While Stuck In the House

It has been a month plus since we have been in quarantine. I have been trying to keep myself busy and not let my mind wander. These 20 things have helped me so much during these times! Make a routine, or at least goals for a week. I started a note on my phone with a list of books, tv shows/movies and things I wanted to get done around the house. When I make lists it is almost like a race against myself to get things accomplished! Find what motivates you and stick with it!

  1. Clean out closets: There is no time like now to clean out your closets. I personally love doing this activity but for some it can be a nussience so no time like now when you have no other option!
  2. Binge a Netflix/Hulu Show: I have been recapping shows I have been watching over on my Instagram. There were a lot of shows and movies that I hadn’t gotten around to so I am finally getting to catch up! Here is what I have watched so far:
    • Next in Fashion
    • The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Chapter 3
    • Love is Blind
    • Little Fires Everywhere
    • Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez
    • Glow Up
    • Lucifer
    • Doll Face

    • Extremely Wicked Shockingly Evil and Vile
  3. Create a fort in your living room: Okay I admit I haven’t done this one yet but I have seen so many people doing this and it looks so fun! Definitely going to have to create one soon.
  4. Journal: I keep a journal and will write in it ever so often when I need to clear my mind or want to document a moment in my life. I feel like in these unprecedented times I will want to look back on my thoughts and feelings when I am old and gray.
  5. Coloring Books: So therapeutic! Coloring is a creative outlet and keeps your mind busy. Through on some Netflix and get to creating.
  6. Puzzles and Board Games: Another fun activity to keep your mind active. If you are quarantined with someone else whip out the Monopoly board or Guess Who. Two of my favorite board games growing up.
  7. Try a new recipe: Okay to be honest I hate cooking but I have tried some new things! Smoothie bowls, simple rice cakes, nothing complicated but hey I am trying!
  8. Read a Book: So if you follow me on Instagram you have seen the amount I have been reading! I have almost finished 10 books this quarantine. I love picking up a book and being able to escape to a new world.
  9. Get some fresh air: Wether it is sitting outside and reading a book, going for a walk or run, it is important to go outside and get some fresh air!
  10. Make Brunch: So me and my roommate have been doing this every Saturday and it is something exciting we can look forward too. We have been facetiming our friends too so it feels like a normal Saturday brunch with the girls!
  11. Facetime friends & family: In our busy day to day lives it is sometimes hard to keep up with talking and checking up on friends and family. Now we have nothing but time to call and catch up with one another! Staying connected and checking on each other right now is so important!
  12. Learn a Tik Tok dance: Okay so guilty I am one of those people that are loving Tik Tok. I don’t post on my account but I love trying out the new dances LOL. Its a fun release!
  13. Workout video: It’s hard to workout in these times but I have been pushing myself to do a workout in the apartment everyday. I love doing the workouts that Lauren Gores posts and Core Power Yoga has some really great videos on YouTube. Sometimes I make my own up too from favorite exercises to things I find on Pinterest!
  14. Try out a new outfit or makeup look: Something thats keeping my creativity going is trying on new outfits and playing around with new looks I might not usually think to put together. Yes I am not wearing them now but if I find a look I like I take a picture of it so I can rock it when all of this is over!
  15. Deep Clean your space: So I am a huge clean freak, especially with being nervous with germs and the virus. It feels so good to be able to relax in a clean space from clean sheets to vacuuming. It uplifts my spirits!
  16. Organize files/photos on your computer: I had been needing to do a clean out on my computer badly. I backed up my computer and organized photos that I had not yet uploaded. It is not a fun task but something to get done while binge watching netflix!
  17. Research something new: This could range from history, politics, celebrities, my new thing is learning about skincare. I have been loving to read into what ingredients benefit your skin and learning more about my skin type! Would y’all want to see a blog post?
  18. Listen to a Podcast: I have been pretty behind on my podcasts just because I have been watching more videos but when I am cooking, cleaning my room or when I get out of the shower I always turn on my favorite podcast to escape!
  19. Get inspired on Pinterest: Pretty sure we are all looking for inspiration or maybe crafts to do inside. Pinterest is the perfect way to get your creativity going!
  20. Watch church online: I started watching church online last Sunday and it was a great way to start my day. It’s definitely weird watching online and not in church but it uplifted my spirit for sure!
