Fall Bucket List

October 24, 2018

It is no secret that I am in LOVE with fall and all things associated with the season. I would like to say that Pumpkins are basically my spirit animal so when September rolls around I am in full fall mode. Fall brings the best color palettes, weather, activities and overall mood. Each fall there are 6 things that I HAVE to do before Thanksgiving rolls around (I really just couldn’t narrow it down to 5). There are also two activities that I would love to do in the fall but Texas simply doesn’t allow it (road trip next year?).

  1. Pumpkin Patch- This will forever be my favorite fall activity. There is something about a pumpkin patch in the fall that makes me feel some type of way. If you are local to the DFW area, my two favorites are Halls Pumpkin Patch in Grapevine and the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch in Flower Mound. I sadly have not been this year to either but plan to go next week! Pumpkins, corn mazes, and photo opportunities? I mean that sounds like a match made in heaven! This year I am also wanting to check our Rubials plant shop in Dallas. This isn’t a pumpkin patch but they have HUGE pumpkins that I am dying to checkout!
  2.  Pumpkin Food- PUMPKIN EVERYTHING. I am one of those Basic girls that rushes out and buys all things pumpkin the moment it hits the market, and I am totally okay with that. Give me all the PSL’s, Pumpkin Bread, Pumpkin Pie, I love it all (except Pumpkin Spice Oreos, those are sick). My mom would even get me Pumpkin Pies in addition to a bithday cake for many years of my life. The love is a tad bit out of control but you only get these things for 3 months out of the year.
  3. Pumpkin Shaped Sugar Cookies– These need a whole seperate category besides food since they are not pumpkin flavored. Baking Pillsbury pumpkin shaped sugar cookies each fall (and for that matter any holiday design they released) has been a tradition since I can remeber. The act of baking these are an event in and of itself. I remeber when I was little and the cookie dough came on the roll where you could slice them yourself. I always loved cutting thin slices of cookie dough and eating them prior to baking. Sadly Pillsbury took this right away from us and made them pre cut but it is still the best cookies on the block.
  4. Decorating for Fall- No better feeling then a pile of pumpkins all over the house and a pumpkin candle burning. Come September you can bet that I am already burning a pumpkin candle no matter how hot it is outside. I love getting in the fall mood with pumpkins all around the house. To each their own but pretty sure we have almost 20 different forms of pumpkin decor through our apartment. Trader Joes was the spot this year to get pumpkins at a great price! I cant wait to be able to decorate a front porch for fall one day when I have a house!
  5. Hocus Pocus & Halloweentown-So if you arent watching these two classic movies this time of year I dont know if we can be friends. In my opinion Halloweentown is still hands down my favorite Halloween movie. These movies are so lighthearted and fun and immeditely get you ready for Halloween! If you didnt know, they actually have Halloweentown set up in Oregon where you can visit Halloweentown! This is for sure a dream of mine LOL, maybe one day.
  6. New Sweaters- With all the fall preperation you cant help but want to spruce up your sweater selection. I love every year finding new cozy pieces that I can wrap up in and create all these amazing memories! I know its kind of weird but a lot of times I associate and can remember the clothes I was wearing during an event or memory. If you are ballin on a budget, Target and Old Navy are always my go to’s for sprucing my sweater selection up!

For the two activities I so deserately wish we could do in Texas, apple picking and walking through beautiful fall leaves are at the top of my list. As much as I love Texas, fall is not the best season for the state. I want to next year travel up north so I can do both of these bucket list activities! What are your favorite fall activities? I would love to know!

Happy Pumpkin Picking 😉
